Mishkaat is inspired by a beautiful light metaphor from the Quran. In Surah Al-Noor (the Light chapter), verse 35, God's light is compared to a lamp in a niche — a "Mishkaat" — radiating the clearest, purest light. With this in mind we chose the motto "Discover the light within". We want your pilgrimage to Makkah and Medina to be not only a physical journey, but a spiritual experience where you find new light and inspiration in your life.

Our mission and vision
Mishkaat was established in 2015 and has since helped thousands of Norwegians perform Umrah and Hajj in a safe and meaningful way. We are a team with experience and dedication to travelers and their spiritual needs. Our vision is to be the most professional operator — so you can focus on prayer and the spiritual. As a pilgrim you are at the center of everything we do, and we put great care into every practical detail.
Experience and security
In just a few years, more than 5,000 travelers have performed Umrah with Mishkaat, and nearly 1,000 have performed Hajj with us. This makes us one of Norway's leading organizers of pilgrimages. We have our own office in Oslo, and our team follows you up before departure and along the way. We also work closely with experienced local partners in Saudi Arabia to keep safety and comfort at the highest level.

Our history
Mishkaat Norge was established in 2015 with a vision of making Umrah and Hajj journeys accessible and safe for Muslims in Norway. Our first group traveled at Easter 2016, and by the end of 2016 we became the first in Norway to charter our own aircraft — with 200 travelers. We also opened our specialized Umrah and Hajj office at Grønland Basar in Oslo, became officially registered as an Umrah operator with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia, and joined IATA.
We obtained our own official Hajj licenses and took full responsibility for the entire Hajj process, with 150 pilgrims. We introduced booklets with practical information and detailed agendas, and chartered our own aircraft at Easter and Christmas in cooperation with Turkish Airlines (Airbus 330).
We launched our own Umrah app with a complete trip overview, step-by-step Umrah guide, and navigation back to the hotel — the start of Mishkaat's digital development.
We received the Best Performer Award from Al Hussam, one of the largest Umrah companies in Saudi Arabia. The same year we chartered Turkish Airlines' largest aircraft, an Airbus 340, with nearly 300 pilgrims — and 8 buses carried the group from Medina to Makkah.
The pandemic paused our journeys. We used the time to grow stronger: a new comprehensive Umrah guide, improved processes, and an upgraded app. We also got our own counter at Oslo Airport. In 2022, Saudi Arabia introduced tourist visas and reorganized how Hajj is run.
A demanding year in which we lost a dear colleague — a pillar of the Mishkaat family. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. We also had to cancel Hajj 2023. At the same time, we ran our first women-only group, and Mishkaat was recognized by the Saudi Ministry of Tourism as one of the strongest contributors to pilgrimages in Scandinavia.
We established our own digital platform with My Page functionality, produced new training material, recruited new group leaders, and signed a contract with our new Hajj supplier, Al Bait Guests — a stronger foundation for future Hajj journeys.
